I’m so excited to share these images from a recent boudoir photo collaboration with the incredibly talented model, Elena Smalls.
What drew you to collaborate with Niki of Her Story Images?
"I knew right away what Niki’s style was from her instagram page...I knew that she understands the female body and what looks feminine and strong and yet gentle...that’s what our images portray: strength, femininity, and gentleness in all the photos...she is able to give women strength and femininity and gentleness all at once, and every woman looks super confident in their photos."
How did you get interested in modeling?
"I always wanted to model. I used to watch America’s Next Top Model when i was a kid, but I never thought it was possible for me to model because I was on the shorter side. I went to ZItaly last year with my sister, and a woman asked us where we were from. She didn’t believe that we were from the United States because we didn’t fit her idea of what Americans look like. I wanted to model to show that Americans have all different types of looks. I also wanted women my height to think that they are beautiful too!"
How did you feel before your photo session?
"Before my photo session with Niki, I was feeling very comfortable because we spoke on the phone, and I knew she was a mom...We talked beforehand, and she made sure that I was going into the shoot with what I was comfortable with."
How did you feel during your photo session?
"During the session I felt so comfortable...it was very tastefully done, so I felt confident and sexy in every outfit that Niki gave me. I was so happy throughout the shoot to see a few photos. I also loved that she was able to experiment with different vibes, and it was super fun because we had a creative energy going on...that’s what collaborations are all about! Niki was very comfortable throughout the whole shoot...I was doing so many different poses and dancing, and I only do that with photographers that I feel comfortable with. The session was also in her home, so it felt personal...Niki builds that trust with her clients by inviting them into her home...she trust us, so we trust her."
What advice would you give women considering a boudoir photo session with Niki of Her Story Images?
"My biggest advice for women considering a boudoir shoot: ...wear something you are comfortable and confident in...also, you can set a certain mood or character that you want to feel when you see the photo...it’s like, “I’m a badass”. And make sure you are working with a photographer that you feel comfortable with and that you trust, because it is very personal!"
